Materials:
White Worsted weight cotton yarn (approx. 1 oz)
40 Red Tri-beads
Size H hook
Yarn needle
Elastic Hair band

Note:  Thread beads onto cotton yarn before beginning.  Use either a bead threader or a small (size 10) steel hook.  Using the steel hook, thread 3 beads onto end of hook, and loop cotton yarn over hook and pull through beads.

Round 1: Join with a sc around hair band and work 39 more sc completely around band, join with sl st to first sc.  (40 sc)

Round 2:  Ch 3, (dc in same st, ch 1, 2 dc) in same sp, * (2 dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next space.  Repeat from * around, join with sl st to top of ch 3.

Round 3:  Sl st to first ch 1 sp, (ch1, sc) in same sp, bring bead up to hook ch 1 over bead, sc in same sp, ch 3, * (sc, ch1 over bead, sc in next sp), ch 3.  Repeat from * around.  Join with sl st to first sc.  Fasten Off and weave in ends.

Variation:  On Round 1 work (2 dc, ch 2, 2dc) ch 1 in each stitch.  This makes an even fuller scrunchie.
